JD(U) objects creation of separate Railway Relief Fund by Lalu

Patna, Aug31 (UNI) The JD(U) today took strong exception to a decision of Railway Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad for creating a separate Railway Relief Fund of Rs 90 Crore, saying the money should have been deposited to Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

National spokesman of the party Shivanand Tiwari told newspersons that as per the precedence and established practice Mr Prasad should not have created separate relief fund for assisting the flood victims of Bihar. ''It would have been better, if Mr Prasad had deposited the money of Railway Relief Fund to Chief Minister relief fund'', he added.

Taking potshot on food relief scam during the Rabri regime in Bihar he alleged involvement of some of RJD leaders in it.

Surprised over the allegation of senior RJD leader and former Bihar Water resources minister Jagdanand Singh that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was responsible for the catastrophic flood and he will have to go to jail for his lapses, Mr Tiwari said the former minister was only following the dictat of his supremo Mr Prasad, who forced him to make such baseless allegations.

A few days ago, Mr Singh had said the flood was the result of natural conditions not the ''human error'' as was being alleged by some political parties, he pointed out.
