Husband sets wife on fire, commits suicide

Dharamshala, Aug 31 (UNI) A 35-year old man allegedly set his wife on fire and later committed suicide in Janankhar village in Kangra district today.

Police sources said Rajnesh a resident of the village set his wife, Seema on fire after sprinkling kerosene oil on her. Later, he set himself ablaze.

Both were rushed to DR R P Government Medical College at Tanda where the husband succumbed to his burn injuries while the wife is struggling for her life.

Investigations by the police revealed that Rajnesh was infuriated after his unmarried sister, Chandresh consumed poison late last night after a quarrel with Seema. Chandresh is also admitted in the medical college at Tanda.

The police has registered a case and have started recording the statements of the villagers and family members of the deceased.
