Mumbai Encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma sacked

Mumbai, Aug 31: Encounter Specialist Senior Inspector Pradeep Sharma has been suspended by the city Police Commissioner for his alleged nexus with the underworld. The city Police Commissioner, exercising his power under section 311 of the CrPc, suspended Sharma on Saturday, Aug 30 evening.

Sharma has over 100 encounter killings to his name since 2005. Police Commissioner Hasan Gafoor said Sharma has been removed from service for his past record. Sharma has been accused of having links with Dawood Ibrahim. He is likely to surrender official weapons and cartridges to the department by Sunday, Aug 31 afternoon.
