Dalai Lama to be discharged from hospital on Monday

Dharamsala, Aug 31 : Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama will be discharged from the hospital in Mumbai on Monday said Tibetan government-in-exile today.

Dalai Lama was taken to a hospital in Mumbai on Thursday after he complained of exhaustion.

The Dalai Lama cancelled all his engagements for the next three weeks to undergo medical check-up and take rest.

"According to the information which I have received, he will be discharged on Monday from Leelavati hospital. His health is fine and he will be getting discharged," said Karma Yeshi, Tibetan Parliamentarian-in-exile in Dharamsala on Sunday.

Meanwhile Tibetans in Dharamsala continued their prayers for the speedy recovery of their spiritual leader.

The 73-year-old, Nobel Peace Prize winner spends several months of the year away from Dharamsala, delivering religious lectures and speaking about what he calls the suffering of Tibetan people under Chinese rule.
