Youth Cong to launch organisational polls from Punjab
Chandigarh, Aug 30 (UNI) The process for nation-wide first-ever organisational polls for All India Youth Congress would commence from the state of Punjab in mid-October, Youth Congress president Ashok Tanwar announced here today.
Addressing a pressc conference here, Mr Tanwar said the organisation would launch a membership drive in Punjab from September 2 to September 30 to enroll people upto 35 years of age.
Later, an electoral list with photo would be made of all members.
Giving the details of the phase-wise process, Congress Election Authority president Prakash Joshi told reporters that polls would be held at block, district and state level.
The block-level polls would be held directly by the members in the third week of October for one president, 4 vice-presidents and 6 deligates, who will later chose District Youth Congress president and 6 other delegates in the first week of November.
Mr Joshi said that these district level representatives will elect the state Youth Congress chief in the second week of November.
