Union Minister assures assistance to cataract surgery victims
Tiruchirapalli, Aug 30 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Law and Justice K Venkatapathy has assured all possible assistance to the victims of the cataract surgery, performed at the Joseph Eye Hospital here last month.
The Minister, who visted the patients at the private hospital here last night, told newspersons that immediate steps would be taken to provide old-age pension to the victims.
Stating that Chief Minister M Karunanidhi was closely monitoring the clinical condition of the people, Mr Venkatapathy said he would also explore the possibility of getting medical relief from the Centre after apprising the Prime Minister of the matter.
