Shahbaz yet to admit involvement in Jaipur blasts
Jaipur, Aug 30 (UNI) Shahbaz Hussian, key suspect in the May 13 serial blasts in Jaipur, has accepted his affiliation with the banned Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) but denied his or the outfit's role and involvement in the serial blasts in the Pink City and elsewhere.
Talking to reporters here today, Deputy Inspector General, Special operation Group (SoG) A Punnu Chami, said the accused, who had been brought here from Lucknow, had accepted that he had been working as SIMI ''President'' since the arrest of Safdar Nagauri in April.
However, further investigations were on and a special SoG team had been sent to Lucknow to procure possible evidences or information from Shahbaz's residence and the cyber cafe owned by him. The accused was presently in SoG custody till September 5, he added.
Meanwhile, investigators were contemplating a move to bring Ahmadabad serial blasts masterminds Sajid and Abdul Bashir to Jaipur on a production warrant.
