Rs 2.64 cr fund sanctioned to SHGs
Karur, Aug 30 (UNI) As many as 528 women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Karur district were sanctioned a revolving fund to the tune of Rs 2.64 crore under the 'Swarnajayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana.
Official sources said the target was to disburse the fund to 1,555 SHGs in the district.
In respect of loans for carrying out economic activities, 16 SHGs were sanctioned credit amounting to Rs 78 lakh with a subsidy component of Rs 16.25 lakh.
A new credit scheme, with the subsidy component as in Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), was introduced by merging the Prime Minister's 'Rozgar Yojana' and Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, the sources added.
