Rapist gets life imprisonment

Patna, Aug 30 (UNI) A local sessions court today awarded life term to a man for raping a minor girl.

The court also slapped fine of Rs 20,000 against the convict.

Additional district and sessions judge Vijay Prakash Mishra found Indal Rai, a resident of Panapur under Danapur police station area here guilty under section 376(2)(F) of the Indian Penal Code.

The court while awarding the punishment said in its judgement that no lenient view should be granted to such type of criminals.

According to the charges, a five year girl was raped by the convict at Jivrakhan tola under Maner police station area in the district on May 17, 2002.

The convict is the maternal uncle of the victim.
