Mysterious fever claims 12 life in HP

Shimla, Aug 30 (UNI) Mysterious fever has claimed lives of twelve women in a week while large number of patients with complaints of high fever have been admitted in the IGMC here.

IGMC, Medical Superintendent, S S Minhas said that four of the patients, who were admitted in the hospital died of scrub typhus and the remaining died due to high fever.

He said that the most referred cases were from District Bilaspur and Subdivision Rampur of Shimla district.

However, he said that that situation was not alarming and there was no danger of epidemic. He said during rainy seasons the cases of the fever marginally increases.
