LDF recommends hike in water charges

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 30 (UNI) The ruling Left Democratic Front(LDF) in Kerala today recommended a hike in water charges considering the financial crunch faced by the State Water Authority.

Briefing the media after a meeting of the LDF, its Convener Vaikom Viswan said the quantum of increase would be decided by the State Cabinet.

The meeting also recommended the sanction of more self-financing educational institutions in the State.
