Landmine defused in Gadchiroli

Nagpur, Aug 30 (UNI) Police today defused a landmine, suspected to have been planted by naxalites, in Gadchiroli district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

According to police, the outlaws had planted a steel box containing seven kg of explosives next to a road near village Mosam in the district.

The landmine and a 20 ft of wire connected to a detonator was found during a routine patrol in the jungles, they said.

The explosives, wire and detonator were seized, police asserted.

The explosives were planted with the intention of inflicting damage to the law enforcement machinery, they added.
