Fake currency notes seized in Pondy

Puducherry, Aug 30 (UNI) Police here today seized several wads of fake foreign currency notes allegedly abandoned by someone involved in the 'Black Dollar Scam.' According to police, two rag pickers found two suitcases abandoned on the Ambedkar Saalai. When they were dragging it, some locals questioned them following which they left it on the road.

On information, Odeansaalai Police seized them.The bomb disposal squad was summoned suspecting they might contain some explosives.

When opened, they found fake dollar bundles in the suitcases.

Police sources said they were looking for Nigerians who were usually involved in such scams in which they dupe unsuspecting victims by saying that black or coated paper can be converted into original bank notes.
