Ex-rebels meet Assam Governor
Guwahati, Aug 30 (UNI) A delegation of surrendered ULFA rebels today called on Assam Governor Shiv Charan Mathur at Raj Bhawan and apprised him of non-receipt of rehabilitation packages. The former rebels alleged that they were being harassed in connection with the old cases and urged the Governor to the withdraw the same.
They also maintained that the rehabilitation packages were not offered or cleared to many surrendered militants and they were facing a tough time in earning their livelihood.
The ex-rebels also submitted separate memoranda to the President and Prime Minister through the Governor.
