Day curfew lifted in Kulgam in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 30 (UNI) In view of the overall improvement in the situation, the day curfew in the Kulgam district of South Kashmir has been lifted today.

Curfew in some major tehsils of the district was imposed on August 24. However, it was relaxed in between the period.

District Magistrate (DM), Kulgam, Latif-u-Zaman said curfew in the areas where it was imposed has been lifted from 0800 hrs to 2200 hrs today.

However, in other areas restrictions under section 144 CrPc will remain inforce.

Mr Zaman appealed to teachers and other staff to reopen all educational institutions in the district and resume normal working.

Students have suffered because of disturbances and curfew, he said and urged them to resume normal working today.

He also asked doctors and other paramedical staff of health institutions to resume duty to serve the needy people.

Mr Zaman said there is absolutely no shortage of essential commodities in the district.
