Badal condoles Birla's death

Chandigarh, Aug 30 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today expressed profound grief over the death of K K Birla, an eminent Industrialist and Chairman of 'The Hindustan Times Newspaper'.

In a condolence message the Chief Minister said, ''He was an eminent statesman, doyen of Indian Industry and a noble soul. His emphatic role in the growth of industrial sector on one hand and the promotion of trade and commerce on the other, would for ever be remembered.'' Mr Badal also extended sympathies with the family member of the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty to give strength and courage to them to bear this irreparable loss and grant peace to the departed soul.

Information and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia and Shiromani Akali Dal Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal also condoled the death of Dr K.K. Birla.
