3 cops wounded in attack
Malappuram, Kerala, Aug 30 (UNI) Three police personnel, including a woman constable, were injured when alleged pro-CPI(M) Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) activists attacked a police station in the district today.
Special Branch police said about 30 activists, led by their leader Sharafuddin, barged into Kottakkal Police Station to release one of their associates taken into custody by the police in connection with a case last night.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Sadanandan, Head Constable Moosa and woman constable Philomina, who resisted their attempt, were allegedly assaulted by the intruders.
The injured were admitted to a hospital in Thirurangady in the district, the police added.
