Union Govt sanctions proposal for 12,500 'anganwadis' in Mah
Sangli, Maharashtra, Aug 29 (UNI) Maharashtra EGS, parliamentary affairs, women and child-welfare minister Harshawardhan Patil today said the Union government has sanctioned a proposal to set up 12,500 ''anganwadis'' in the state.
Addressing a rally of 'Anganwadi Sevikas' here, Mr Patil said that the state government had made budgetary provision for anganwadis, which will fulfill their demands.
He said the state government has decided to give the sevikas a pension Rs 200, with effect from May 2007. This is a first of a kind initiative, Mr Patil said.
