Mumbai, Aug 29 (UNI) Select ferrous and non-ferrous metals declined today in view of bearish trend from London Metal Exchange (LME), traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.
In ferrous metals, brass utensils and brass cuttings slipped by Rs 100 per quintal each on sustained heavy selling pressure by stockists.
After falling by Rs 100 each, brass utensils and brass cuttings ended at Rs 25,200 and Rs 26,500 per quintal respectively.
Other metals namely copper heavy, copper utensils and aluminium utensils remained unaltered on scattered buying by stockists.
In non-ferrous metals, zinc slab and lead ingot were down by Rs 200 per quintal each on sluggish demand by bulk consumers along with discouraging advice from London Metal Exchange.
Finally, zinc slab and lead ingot closed at Rs 10,100 and Rs 10,500 per quintal respectively.
Even, nickel cathode, which recovered by Rs 25 yesterday, edged down by Rs 15 on poor demand by indsutrial users and closed at Rs 1,065 per kg, traders added.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 37,000, copper utensils - Rs 34,500, brass utensils - Rs 25,200, brass cuttings - Rs 26,500 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,100.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 40,300, aluminium ingots- Rs 13,900, zinc slab - Rs 10,100, lead ingots - Rs 10,500, tin slab - Rs 1,135 per kg and nickel cathode - Rs 1,065 per kg.
