School bus driver's timely action avoids major accident

Dehra Dun, Aug 29 (UNI) A school bus driver averted a major tragedy this morning after he prevented the bus from falling off track when it crossed a speedbreaker in Herbertpur area near Vikasnagar.

DMMC officials said 14 students of the BD Memorial school escaped with minor injuries after their bus lost control after crossing a speedbreaker at 0915 hrs.

After crossing the speedbreaker, the bus moved lopsidedly but the driver's prompt control of the steering wheel prevented a major accident from taking place.

The students were taken to a hospital in Herbertpur and later discharged, officials added.
