Rupee opens firm at 43.73 against US Dollar

Mumbai, Aug 29: The spot rupee on Friday, Aug 29 resumed firm at 43.73/74 against per US dollar from it last close of 43.78 on fresh dollar selling pressure from bankers.

The currency was strong due to bullish trend at stock markets, but firm dollar overseas and costlier oil prices were expected to limit the rise, a leading dealer said. The Rupee fluctuated between 43.63 and 43.77 per dollar during intra-day. It had hit a 17-month low of 44.26 earlier in the week.
