Punjab to test 6 lakh soil samples this year: Langah
Chandigarh, Aug 29 (UNI) Punjab Agriculture Minister Sucha Singh Langah today said that 66 soil testing laboratories in the state would test about 6 lakh samples of soil this year to make the agriculturists aware about the deficiency of fertile elements and suggest remedial measures.
He urged the farmers in the state to make full use of this facility and get their soil tested and use fertilizers accordingly to get maximum yield from crops and ensure minimum damage to the land.
Mr Langah said besides these 66 soil testing labs in the state, two labs were operational in Agriculture University Ludhiana, eight labs under Markfed and one lab was being run by NFL.
