Powerful IED diffused by CRPF in north Kashmir

{image-kashmir curfew_29082008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Srinagar, Aug 29: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Friday, Aug 29 averted a major tragedy when they detected a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by militants near a bridge in north Kashmir. A CRPF spokesman said that troops of the 177 battalion noticed some object under the stones near Kanusa Bridge Bandipora, about 55 km from Srinagar.

The area was sealed and the bomb disposal squad summoned. He said the IED was later defused without causing any damage.
