Lankan Minister seeks support on Tamils issue
Tiruchirapalli, Aug 29 (UNI) Sri Lankan Social Welfare Minister P Chandrasekaran said he would be meeting Desiya Murpokku Dravidar Kazhagam (DMDK) founder and actor Vijayakanth and All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi founder and actor Sarathkumar to seek their support on Sri Lankan Tamils issue.
The Minister, on a personal visit here, told newspersons yesteday, both Mr Vijayakanth and Mr Sarathkumar had already raised their voice for the welfare of the Lankan Tamils.
They should use their good offices with the Union Government and ensure the Indian government intervened in the Tamils issue and find an amicable settlement.
The Minister said he had already met DMK president and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi in this connection and would be meeting various leaders of political parties in Tamil Nadu to seek support for the cause.
The Minister offered worship along with his family members at popular Samayapuram Sri Mariamman Temple and Sri Jembukeshwara Akilandeshwari Temple at Thiruvanaikovil here.
