Karnataka invites fresh US investment

Washington, Aug 29: Karnataka's Minister for Large and Medium Industries Murugesh R. Nirani has invited fresh US investments for state, assuring all the support and help from the State government in this endeavour.

He also invited everyone to participate in the Global Investors Meet scheduled for January 2009 at Bangalore. The minister who is leading a high-level delegation from Karnataka State was speaking at a Luncheon Business Session on Investment opportunities in Karnataka, organized by the Embassy of India through US- India Business Council (USIBC) here. Nirani, In his Keynote address, gave information about the sector-specific industrial zones proposed in the state for steel, cement, ready-made garments, automobile, IT/BT and Agro food processing.

The minister underlined the industrial potential of Karnataka while giving details of the human resources, infrastructure and facilities available for industries in the State.

The delegation made a presentation about the investment opportunities in Karnataka through a short film. More than 90 Indian and American businessmen were present at the event. Mr Ron Somers, president US-India Business Council initiated the discussions by welcoming the gathering.
