Journalist Thomas Parannur passes away

Thrissur, Aug 29 (UNI) Senior journalist and cultural leader Thomas Parannur died at a private hospital here today.

He was 71 and is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Parannur had worked as sub-editor with the 'Thozhilali' daily founded by Joseph Vadakkan and later as editor of 'Jayakakalam,' an eveninger from Thrissur for nearly 30 years.

He was an active worker of the anti-Communist front, Karshaka Thozhilali party and Malanadu Karshaka Union led by Fr Joseph Vadakkan.

A lyricist, he had written songs for several plays and three films.
