Jind, Aug 29 (UNI) Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has decided to launch state level agitation from September 1 to press for better price of rice and bajra and against "denial" of BPL cards to the rightful people.

The INLD would organise district level protest march in all the district Head Quarters on September 1. This decision was taken at the INLD state body meeting, chaired by INLD president Chaudhary Om Parkash Chautala, here today.

"The minimum support price of rice should be enhanced to Rs 1050 from Rs 850, Pusa 1121 should be considered a variety of Basmati rice and the export duty of Rs 800 on the rice export should be immediately scrapped," Mr Chautala demanded while addressing the party office bearers.

He also demanded that Bajra producer farmers should be given the due MSP, who were being forced to sell the Bajra far below the MSP.

Mr Chautala said "the government has given BPL cards to the affluent people, government's close people, but the rightful poor people belonging to SC and backward sections of the society were not being given BPL cards." In the meeting the party also decided to organise a rally at Bhiwani on September 25, the birthday of Late Chaudhary Devi Lal.

During the Bhiwani Rally Olympic Bronze Medallist Vijender Kumar would be honoured with Rupees 25 Lakh, other three boxers from Bhiwani, Akhil Kumar, Jitender Kumar and Dinesh with cash prize of Rs 5 lakkh each. Olympic Bronze medalist Wrestler Susheel Kumar would be given Rs 11 lakh cash prize.
