CJM to hear petition against Shahi Imam

Azamgarh, Aug 29 (UNI) Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) has accepted the petition filed against Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmad Bukhari for his objectionable statement on Hindu organisations.

CJM S N Upadhyay will hear the petition filed by advocate Janardan Singh tomorrow.

According to the petition, the Imam's statement might disrupt peaceand harmony in the country, besides souring relationship between the two communities.

On August 21, Mr Bukhari had come here to meet the family of Abu Bashar, the prime accused in Ahmedabad blasts.

He had alleged that it was not SIMI but Hindu organisations like Shiv Sena, VHP and RSS were behind the blasts and warned of nationwide agitation bigger than 1947, if Bashar not released.
