BJP demands withdrawal of special status to Kashmir
Bangalore, Aug 29(UNI) Charging that terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir are using article 370 of the Indian constitution as a 'shield' to carry out their separatist activities, BJP National Vice President Muqthar Abbas Naqvi today demanded all political parties to rethink on supporting special status conferred on the 'troubled state'.
Addressing newspersons here, Mr Naqvi accused that Congress and its supporting parties which have adopted soft corner to terrorists networks and their activities should be blamed for the present 'volatile situation' in Jammu and Kashmir.
Appealing to all the political parties to rethink on extending the special status conferred on Jammu and Kashmir under article 370 of the constitution, Mr Naqvi claimed that 'even terrorist organisations wants its abrogation'. The article 370 is working like a 'speedbreaker' and have become main hurdle in ushering peace and prosperity of Jammu and Kashmir, he said.
Stating that 'Amarnath issue is the living example on the mishandling of J &K situation by the Congress party' he said that separatist activists are openly demanding freedom. "In our opinion the situation was taken to the present shape because of wrong and soft approach shown towards the separatist forces" he said.
