10 injured by panther in Bilaspur
Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Aug 29: Ten villagers, including a tahsildar, were injured in an attack by a panther at Ghutkundi village in Pandaria Lormi area in this district of Chhattisgarh, forest department sources said today.
A panther strayed into Ghutkundi village near Agar river yesterday. As news spread of sighting a panther in farms, villagers gathered in huge numbers.
On seeing a huge crowd, the wild animal panicked, jumped on people and fled. Tahsildar V R Dhruv was among those injured. A forest department team reached the spot.
Forest department officials were searching the panther at farms and nearby forests.
