Unidentified persons assaulted two youths in Mangalore town

Mangalore, Aug 28(UNI) Heavy security arrngements have been made in the tension-prevailed areas in some pockets in the city following reports of an incident of assault on two youths by some unidentified persons here last night.

According to police sources some miscreants came from two vehicles including a rickshaw have attacked two youths with lethal weapons and fled away from the scene after the duo raised commotion last night.

The police said taht the injured identified as Bhaskar and Anil were admitted to a private hospital where they were recovering. Both the injured also activists of Bhajarangdal in Daxina Kannada district were also attacked by the miscreants earlier.

Shops and other busines sestablishments were remained closed fearing violence in the backdrop of attack on two Bhajarangdal activists and elaborate security arrangements were made to defuse the situation which was stated to be tense. A special investigation team has been formed to nail-down the culprits, the sources added.
