RIL takes up developmental works in Moti Khavdi village
Jamnagar, Aug 28 (UNI) Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has taken up large-scale developmental works to reshape Moti Khavdi village here at an estimated cost of Rs one crore.
As part of the plan, a village market ''Gram Haat'' with 46 shops was today inaugurated RIL senior vice president by S C Malhotra.
A committee, appointed by the District Collector, had scrutinised hawkers and vendors before alloting the shops.
The typical, well organised village market will accommodate shops for vegetables, fruits, clothes, cutlery, eatables, spices as well as shoe-repairing. Until now, these vendors and hawkers did their business in open area. The new facility would, thus, ease crowding near railway crossing and the state high way and would also clean up the encroached foot paths and walk ways.
RIL has also developed a garden near the ''Gram Haat'', where several trees such as coconut, palm, neem and gulmohar are being raised.
A huge parking area for the two-wheelers and four wheelers has also been developed company sources said.
