Pondy under tight security to prevent untoward incidents

Puducherry, Aug 28 (UNI) Puducherry was under tight security to prevent any untoward incidents following the resignation of Chief Minister N Rangasamy.

However, unlike in the past two occasions, when people from Mr Rangasamy's Thattanchavady constituency unleashed violence following rumours of his resignation, nothing untoward occurred today.

While the people of Thattanchavady grieved, those Madukarai burst crackers to celebrate the appointment of Mr Rangasamy likely successor V Vaithilingam from Nettapakkam constituency.
