Make Govt buildings disabled-friendly: CM
Mumbai, Aug 28 (UNI) The government and semi-government office buildings should be given approval after ensuring that they are disabled-friendly, directed Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.
The Chief Minister made this observation while speaking in a meeting held to discuss various demands of handicapped people at Mantralaya yesterday, an official release said here today.
He said all the government and semi-government offices must provide railing facility.
Expressing satisfaction over the three per cent seats reserved for handicapped people in employment and educational institutions, Mr Deshmukh said the priority would be given to totally handicapped.
For simplifying process of medical certificate to handicapped, experts should be appointed at district level with modern machinery.
The certificate should be submitted on all days instead of one day in a week, he said.
Entry to the handicapped in Mantralaya will be given at 1330 hrs during the working days, announced the Chief Minister in the meeting.
