Haryana to honour handicapped achievers
Chandigarh, Aug 28 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to honour those handicapped persons who have made outstanding performance in the areas of social welfare and in their respective fields of activity.
Stating this today, a spokesman for the Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Department said that these people had been put in three categories to give away prizes to them for the year 2008-09.
He said the first category would include handicapped officers and officials of the state government, semi-government organisations and autonomous bodies.
The first prize would be of Rs 10,000, second prize of Rs 8000 and there would be three third prizes of Rs 6000 each. Also there would be three prizes of Rs 4000 each for those ranking fourth.
He said a cash prize of Rs 10,000 would be given to those who would rank first in the category of official and self-employed person.
The second category would be of self employed handicapped persons. In this category, there would be one first prize and one second prize of Rs 5000 and Rs 3000 respectively.
He said in the third category the placement officer of handicapped employees would be given a cash prize of Rs 8000 on the recommendations of the Labour Commissioner Haryana. All prize winners would also get a certificate of merit.
