Common entrance test for Gurukula Schools held
Hyderabad, Aug 28 (UNI)Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Minister P Subash Chandra Bose today said the common entrance test was conducted for admission to standards five and six in Gurukula Schools.
Replying to a query from Mr Balasubramanyam (PDF) during Question Hour in the Council, he said 86,005 students appeared for the test during 2008 for admission to standard five and 24,041 admitted. As many as 1,959 seats were vacant. The sanctioned strength was 26,000.
For Class VI, all 9,000 seats were filled from the 94,736 students who attended the test.
He said the Common Admission Test was conducted in July this year at institution level to fill up the vacant seats. The results were also declared and admissions under process.
