Bajaj,Khan made technical members in Appellate Electricity tribunal

New Delhi, Aug 28 (UNI) Mr Harbans Lal Bajaj and Mr A A Khan were today appointed Technical Members, Appellate Tribunal for Electricity, APTEL.

Power Minister Sushilkumar Shinde administered the oaths of office and secrecy here today.

Set up under Section 110 of the Electricity Acts, the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity can hear appeals against the orders of the adjudicating officer or the Appropriate Commission.

The tribunal is composed of a chairperson and three members, of whom one is a judicial member and the other two are Technical Members.

Mr Bajaj, a former technical member of the tribunal, was born on May 20, 1945. He has served as chairperson of the Central Electricity Authority.

An Electrical Engineering graduate with a Masters in Power Systems, Mr Bajaj has received many awards and recognitions for his outstanding contribution for the development of the power sector in the country.

Mr Khan, also a former Technical Member of the Tribunal, was born on August 7, 1944. He is Master of Science (Electronics) and Master of Technology (Electrical Engg/Microwave). Prior to this, he retired as CMD of the Power Finance Corporation.
