Avalon Technologies to foray into Indian market

Chennai, Aug 28 (UNI) Avalon Technologies, part of the Sienna Group, a global Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) company, today announced its plan to start operations for the Indian market with the estabishment of a new company and another new facility at the export zone for the US market.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Imbichammad, Chairman and Managing Director, Avalon Technologies, said the company would set up a new unit at Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) to cater to the international customers and a new facility at SIDCO Industrial estate in Arumbakkam in the city for the domestic market.

Avalon, which was currently offering end-to-end manufacturing solutions for leading global OEM's in the area of networking and telecommunication, would start operations for the Indian market for the first time, with the establishment of "Avalon Technologies and Services Private Limited" at SIDCO complex in Arumbakkam.

The 50,000 sq ft facility would offer PCB assemblies, cable assemblies, mechanical products and turnkey products meant principally for the Indian market, he said.

"Having met the international standards, we are now looking at India. The new facility is being set up to cater to the increasing demand for hi-tech manufacturing requirements, primarily in the area of Aerospace and Aviation", he said.

Mr Imbichammad said Sienna Group was also launching its new company "Sienna Technologies and Services Private Limited" to cater to the sales and distribution and after-sales support for its various US customers, who have India as an end market.

He said With these expansions, Sienna Group of companies in India would exceed an export turnover of Rs 200 crore during this fiscal year. The new company for the Indian market would generate a revenue of about Rs 250 crore over the next three years, he added.
