A British era tree dying
Ooty, Aug 25, 2008: It has been years since India gained independence from the British but some trees from the colonial times still exist. One of them is in Ooty but the tree is in bad shape. Botanists and other experts are concerned about the deteriorating condition of the tree planted about 185 years ago by John Sullivan, a British official, known as the 'Founder of Ooty'.
