Trinamool's road blockade nothing but inhuman torture: Biman
Kolkata, Aug 27 (UNI) Describing the Opposition Trinamool Congress-led road blockade on NH-2 as ''inhuman torture'' on the people of the state, CPI(M) state secretary Biman Basu today said the impasse in Singur should be sorted out across the discussion table.
''The door is open for discussion but this situation cannot continue for long. The Opposition parties are doing anti-people work in the state. I have received several calls from outside Bengal regarding the happening. The stalemate at Singur should be sorted out across the discussion table,'' Mr Basu told mediapersons here.
He said that obstructing the movement of trucks by putting up blockade on the Durgapur Expressway was against the interest of the people and the truck drivers were facing a lot of problems.
''I have received information that all the truck workers are thinking of staging a dharna, in protest against the agitiation,'' he said.
To a query, Mr Bose said, ''We are dealing with the Singur issue patiently.'' Referring to yesterday's comment by Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee casting aspersion on bandh, Mr Basu replied that it was not their party's stand.
