Terror strike: Samiti postpones 'Sangarsh rally' in Jammu

Jammu, Aug 27 (UNI) Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SAYSS), a conglomerate of several political and non-political outfits spearheading agitation for the restoration of forest land to the SASB in South Kashmir, postponed its scheduled rally in Jammu today.

Citing today's terrorist attack in Jammu, a SAYSS spokesman said, ''Samiti has decided not to hold the Sangarsh Rally, scheduled at Parade Ground in Jammu this evening, to help security forces concentrate on their anti-militancy operation to flush militants out of Jammu.'' The new date for the rally will be decided later on, the spokesman said.

Administration had also appealed to the SAYSS to cancel its rally expressing security concerns in view of the militants attack in Jammu.

The SAYSS had planned a massive rally to give a momentum to their agitation, which has entered 58th day.
