Stone India inks pact with US firm for freight transport system

New Delhi, Aug 27 (UNI) Stone India today said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with US-based RailRunner Inc to introduce intermodal freight cars and transportation technology in the country.

The system will allow point to point movement of containerised goods between road and railway in a very cost effective and environment friendly manner.

Also, it will enable the container trains to run at the speed of the passenger trains, the company said in a statement.
