Sex workers form organisation
Kolhapur, Aug 27 (UNI) As many as 380 sex workers got together today to form their own organisation and elect a seven-member committee to run it, by holding an election.
As many as 157 voters participated in the elections, conducted by 'Mukta NGO', in which 23 candidates were in fray.
Ms Jyoti Shete was elected president, securing 106 votes, while Ms Manda Chavan became the Vice-president.
The elected candidates, while speaking to mediapersons, said that sex workers have now got their own organisation to fight for their problems and address their grievances.
