Rumours swirl about Pondy CM's resignation

Puducherry, Aug 27 (UNI) Rumours that Chief Minister N Rangasamy would tender his resignation today swirled in the Union Territory causing tension here.

Following rumours the AICC had asked Mr Rangasamy to step down, security in the town was tightened and the scribes stationed in front of the Raj Nivas hoping the Chief Minister would arrive there any time to tender his papers to Lt Governor Govind Singh Gurjar.

However, the Chief Minister failed to turn up till this evening indicating he was not in a mood to resign allowing the AICC to initiate action against him.
