Radio still an importnant medium of communication: Minister

Darbhanga, Aug 27 (UNI) In this era of satellite-based information and communication, radio is still considered as an important medium in a country like India, Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development M A A Fatahmi said.

Speaking at a seminar organised by the Akasvani Kendra Darbhanga here yesterday, Mr Fatahmi said in this age of advanced information and communication, radio still held its position as an important medium of communication for its basic characteristics.

''In a country like India, where most of the people belong to rural and economically backward areas, radio is still considered as the one and only medium of information for them,'' he added.

The Union Minister also handed over the 'Bani Pathacrom Certificates' to 66 successful candidates on the occasion.
