Poll schedule for 4 MCs announced
Chandigarh Aug 27 (UNI) The State Election Commission today announced schedule of elections to Municipal Councils Moga, Kharar, Mukatsar, Sujanpur and Nagar Panchayat Badhni Kalan, which would be held on September 14.
According to the schedule, September 1 has been fixed as 1st day of filing nominations and September 4 would be the last date of making nomination.
The scrutiny of nominations would be held on September 5 and September 6 would be the last date for withdrawal of candidature.
The spokesman said that elections, if necessary, election process would be completed on September 17.
The spokesman added that the polling hours have been fixed from 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs on September 14.
It may be added that Principal Secretary Local Government Punjab vide its notification dated 25-8-2008 had communicated that elections to elect members of Municipal Councils of Moga, Kharar, Mukatsar, Sujanpur and Nagar Panchayat Badhni Kalan be held by September 20.
