No need to react on Chiru's party: PCC
Hyderabad, Aug 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President D Srinivas today said there was no need to react to the new political party 'Praja Rajyam' launched by Actor Chiranjeevi.
Addressing the press here today, Mr Srinivas said he did not understand the reason for Mr Charanjeevi floating a new party as he did not give any new assurances to the people.
The Congress Government had provided reservation to weaker sections including Kapus.
He said when Mr N T Rama Rao had launched the Telugu Desam Party in 1983, there was no opposition to the Congress at the time.
Telangana Rastra Samithi President K Chandrasekhara Rao had started a new party with a demand for separate Telangana as he noticed the formation of separate Telangana was very difficult when he was in TDP.
He said the political leaders would launch a political parties with a specific issue. He said there was no issue for Mr Chiranjeevi to start a new party.
He was in the opinion Mr Chiranjeevi wanted leadership than a particular issue.
Mr Srinivas said there was no clarity on separate Telangana in Mr Chiranjeevi's speach at the public meeting.
He said the Congress had more clarity on separate Telangana and was seriously pursuing the matter.
