Jaju remanded in police custody till Sept 4
Mumbai, Aug 27 (UNI) A city court today remanded Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra's ex-secretary Prakash Jaju, who was arrested by the city crime branch from Mau in Madhya Pradesh yesterday for allegedly threatening her family members and making ''inappropriate'' remarks against them, in police custody till September 4.
While seeking police remand, police argued that they wanted to know the accused's link with the underworld, hence required time for interrogation.
Priyanka's father Ashok Chopra had filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Jaju at Oshiwara Police station earlier, stating that Jaju was making false allegations against his daughter and threatening the family members.
Priyanka's family also used to get anonymous threatening calls from landlines.
Earlier, a team of Mumbai police that had gone to raid Jaju's residence in Madhya Pradesh, returned ''empty-handed'' after finding the house locked.
Jaju had also filed a criminal complaint in Indore against Priyanka and her father Ashok for allegedly threatening him through underworld don Chhota Shakeel in order to pressurise him to stop demanding his dues from the actress.
According to Jaju, the film actress owes him a huge amount and was refusing to pay his dues, instead he was being intimidated.
