Hunger Marchers day observed in Manipur

Imphal, Aug 27 (UNI) The students of Manipur today observed "Hunger Marchers' Day" by offering floral tributes to those who died during a students' movement in 1965.

The All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) observed the 43rd Hunger Marchers' Day by offering floral tributes at Pishum Chinga Macha, Imphal.

They assembled at Pishum and then proceeded in a rally to the Thau ground, Imphal, where a public meeting was held.

On this day many students laid their lives in police firing while protesting non-availability of rice.
