EMC to expand its footprint with new channel partners
New Delhi, Aug 27 (UNI) With an aim to continue its leadership position in the information structure market which is estimated to reach 1.1 billion dollars by 2011, EMC India today said it plans to double its channel partners in India.
''We plan to double our channel partners to 200 from the present 100, covering 40 cities in 20 clusters of the country comprising mainly tier-II cities,'' company President Alok Purie told reporters here while announcing the company's new growth strategy for the domestic market.
However, Mr Purie declined to comment on the amount of market share that the company is planning to capture in the future. At present, EMC has 25 per cent market share.
The company has already opened two new offices in Ahmedabad and Pune and its ninth logistic and support centre in Pune.
It also launched nine new information infrastructure products, with the plan to grow its customer base form the present 1,000.
